Rules for safe, fun, & fair Play
Regulation Objectives
To teach all participants the proper fundamentals, techniques, and rules of the game of football.
To make each participant's first organized football experience fun, enjoyable, and rewarding.
To encourage each participant to continue in an organized football program at the next level.
To teach and demonstrate the values of sportsmanship and fair play at all times.
All coaches and officials who participate with SMNYFL are required to study and learn the rules specific to our league. Not only will this lead to accomplishing our league objectives, but will also provide a safer environment to learn football.
We encourage everyone to read the rules for their player’s grade.
HOW THE PLAYOFFS WORK
5th and 6th grade teams participate in 4-team playoff brackets. Brackets are tiered based on season standings. 6th grade teams play a Tuesday night game under the lights at the higher seed.
All other playoff games are played at the Jamboree in Waseca.
One overall champion from 5th and 6th grade will receive championship rings.
